| | myLot Discussions on Vanity Fair Bath Salts| Vanity Fair's "New Hollywood" | | Read an article about Vanity Fair's picks of the "New Hollywood" which was mainly discussing the lack of diversity of the young women they have selected that I can take offense to as a young woman in America. I would hope that the "New Hollywood" would include more than a group of porcelain skin, size 2 beauties. But I was also wondering who else would you include or if you have any thoughts of the actresses they chose to represent the new generation of hollywood. In the photo shoot were Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Emma Stone, Evan Rachel Wood, and Anna Kendrick. Do you agree that we should keep our eyes on these young ladies' blossoming careers? Would you include America Ferrara, Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis or Olivia Munn? | |
| | Vanity Fair Miley Cyrus provocative pose with father | | Does anyone remember that incestuous photo that Miley Cyrus took with her dad in a phot? Not the bare backed one in Vanity Fair (or was inside the mag too) but the one in which Miley is lying down with her father and his hand is on her thigh or resting somewhere else....but it looks like LOVERS not daughter and father. Bunch of weirdos, did anyone see that pix? I feel it was very wrong, and I am no prude believe me, but it had a sexual tone to it. | |
| | Miley Cyrus poses 'topless' for Vanity Fair | | Well, I just read this article about Miley Cyrus posing almost topless and wrapped up in a satin bedsheet for Vanity Fair. It said a lot of parents were outraged about this because she is supposed to be a role model for young girls.
I know if I had a daughter I would be super pissed right now and I probably wouldn't allow her to be a Miley Cyrus fan, because it seems like that would be making her actions ok. She is a very young girl and I feel that photograph was a little inappropriate, especially knowing how many young girls look up to her.

I also attached the picture. What do you think about this as a mother?
| | Miley Cyrus sorry about pics in Vanity fair | | Teen superstar apologizes after Vanity Fair magazine publishes photos of her
The provocative photos have already been published on Vanity Fair's Web site
Renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz directed the Vanity Fair shoot
A photo of Miley Cyrus in Vanity Fair was meant to be artistic, said the teen superstar.Do you think people are making too big a deal of this? Or had she given in to too much pressure? 15 is young for this sort of thing.
| | Did you ever read Vanity Fair by Thackeray? | | I read it when I was in seventh or eighth grade. I was about twelve or thirteen. I had gotten tired of re-reading the other books in the library, so I picked it up. I'm glad I did, because I really enjoyed it, and would love to read it again. Have you ever read it? Did you enjoy it? | |

| | Madonna and Prince hugging | | Is that true that Madonna went to Prince's Oscar afterpary? I saw the pictures of these two music icons giving each other a hug at the Vanity Fair Party. They look hot. The song they make together back in 1989 is just amazing. | |
| | It's a good thing Michelle Obama doesn't wear hats! | | I'm sure glad that Michelle Obama doesn't wear hats, because it would probably resemble the monstrosity below! Why on earth doesn't someone tell her her fashion sense is laughable? She needs a stylista or fashionista to tutor her on what's appropriate for a first lady to wear, not to wear whatever her weird designers make for her; and you just know that they are high-fiving each other, and giggling about "She wore it! She really wore it! Now, gimme that hundred bucks I bet!" I read some where that one of her designers makes clothes for male barbie dolls to make them look like girls. I guess that would explain some of the fashion disasters she's worn. I remember when Hillary Clinton first came on the scene, and how everyone made fun of her-her make-up, her hair, her clothes, everything. I don't care for Hillary's politics, but I'll say one thing, she jumped through hoops trying to look presentable, and it shows. So why is it okay for Michelle to wear clothes out of season, in hideous colors that do nothing for her? She has a beautiful tone to her skin, she could wear a lot more colors that are flattering to her than that awful purple or black that she seems to like. I'm also tired... | |
